getting wireless notebook adaptor to connect automatically
« on: April 23, 2008, 02:27:07 pm »
Hi all, I have just bought a D-link WNA-2330 wireless adapter and have set it up . I can connect although I have to enter terminal and su to root then enter "ifconfig ath0 up" every time I start my system. It works perfectly after that but if I dont enter that it tries to connect then fails. Is there a way to get ath0 to be up on boot so I dont have to enter the terminal and manually bring it up everytime I start my system?

Just add that command to the end of the /etc/rc.d/rc.local file. Then it gets automatically run every boot.

you can simply su to root in a terminal and type
Code: [Select]
echo "ifconfig ath0 up" >> /etc/rc.d/rc.local
