I have an alfa network (rtl8187) device, and i can't change my essid (with ndiswrapper because native drivers don't work). I make an "iwconfig wlan0 essid WLAN_57" and my essid says "ESSID:off/any". Any suggestions??

iwconfig detects it, and I can scan networks with iwlist scan, but ESSID remains unchanged.

I can't compile native drivers... it throws a bunch of errors Sad

uname -an
Linux vector 2.6.22.19 #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Mar 21 10:52:39 MDT 2008 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) III Mobile CPU 1000MHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

Any help appreciated.

Great distro btw Smiley

Very good. Understand you used the alternative "ide" kernel that is included on the install CD?
