Is it possible under xfce, in general or in particular as vector applies it, to have different wallpapers for each workspace, as it is under heavier desktops like KDE?  I'd rather be able to do that than simply rename them...

Last time i checked no, there maybe a way to do it now, not sure. I think its on a "wish list" XFCE has for people to post requests. But as far as i know you cant atm

I understand there actually is a way to do this with an addon program called Devil's Pie http://www.burtonini.com/blog/computers/devilspie but I haven't actually attempted it.
