I just upgraded to beta5 on my laptop..... very nice work guys

My touchpad worked right after installing the synaptics package from slacky.eu (this required a lot of work in previous releases)
upgraded kernel to 2.6.24.3 to get broadcom wireless to work with native drivers (no GUI for wifi-networking though (vwifi doesn't work for me... iwconfig fails to talk to my router... I handly my wifi-connecting with wpa_supplicant))
** Not hard at all **

Right after the install, I added HAL (personal option) and upgraded the LXDE and PCMANFM packages to their latest versions (Sweet WM)

Bootsplash now works on my intel 950GMA chip.
Still no intel drivers included, so I had to install xf86-intel to get the 1280x800 resolution.

After that, this box is as good as it's ever been ... only much faster Wink

Hey M0E, I started building the new LXDE components. Got pcmanfm 0.4.1.1 done but ran into some problems with the others. Do you have the packages made and ready to go?

I built them using the ports I wrote

Edit the ports in the VL Repo for the packages and run them
that worked for me

BTW, pcmanfm is not at 0.4.4.2 (development release)  - we'll never catch up with those guys Sad...
but anyhow, that's how I did it.

Notice that they changed the way lxde and lxpanel behave
lxpanel now allows multiple panels (like gnome and xfce) so the syntax of the config files changed

I would suggest completely removing the old pakcages
wipe out every config file for them, and build them using the ports (update version numbers)

With those changes in LXDE (which sound good, BTW) is it time for Beta 6 or RC1?
