Author Topic: NO Transparency when composite manager is enabled (((SOLVED)))  (Read 1863 times)

Pseudo transparency works fine, but when I enable a compositor such as xfce's or compiz-fusion, my terminals go from transparent to black, and cairo-clock also doesnt do real transparency in composite manager. i am using the latest nvidia driver on vl 5.9. all packages are updated. The composite extension is enabled. everything else in compiz works but this, and NOONE on irc with any knowledge about this subject can figure this out. Compiz works fine on many other OSes with this same hardware i have had for a long time. PLEASE, if you know what is wrong, help me fix this. I am losing hair.

****BIG UPS TO UELSK8S FOR SOLVING THIS IN LIKE 2.8 MINS!!, You're the man! I wish you a quick and healthy recovery. Thanks for all your hard work.****

You need to find your
cat /etc/profile.d/
look for the line saying:   export XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1
 change to:                    #export XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1
Yeah, just comment it out, save it.
Log out and restart X (or full reboot for fun).

P.S. Thank you uelsk8s  Wink
