Connecting to repos via proxy: how?
« on: May 18, 2008, 08:05:40 am »

Hi every1,

I just want to know how to configure my system so that I can access the repositories via a proxy. Right now I can't download/install any programs because, apparently, slapt/gslapt assumes I have a direct connection to the internet.

Then, I want to install Busybox and make it my default shell; how do I do that, please?

Thank you.

Hi BigTimer

Open a terminal and type:

Code: [Select]
export HTTP_PROXY=
Edit the IP as needed. Try slapt-get again and if it works, we can find a place to put that line so it is executed on every boot. I am not sure where this setting needs to go.
