You're right about Pysol.  And "Blow's away" is a understatement.  She did goof around with it, and I'm sure she would of used it if I would of left well enough alone.  But I just "had" do demonstrate how neat Wine is, and go and set up her familiar solitaire game.  She's one of those people that stick to what they know I guess.  So letting her bring a old "comfort" with her while she gets used to a new OS isn't such a bad thing.
I was going to use the "old dog, new trick" line here, but I guess it's possible she could end up in this forum someday.  I'd rather not have her holding that over my head. :D

As far as chess is concerned. Oddly enough, there isn't anything in our repos.  I remember a thread a while back, I was assisting a "upcoming" packager getting a really cool 3d chess game packaged.  But soon after I was away from the board for quite some time.  I'll look into what happened.  I'll package it if needed, just don't want to step on anyones toes.

P.S. Do you know of an easy to install chess game I can play against the pc with?

Try GNU Chess

Here's a package you can install on Vector: http://slackware.mirrors.tds.net/pub/slackware/slackware-current/slackware/xap/gnuchess-5.07-i486-3.tgz
