Just a thought...
I know, it's not a suggestion for a contest....
but to spread the word about the capabilities of VL, why not create, publish a list of hardware (older hardware) where, for example Ubuntu and derivatives failed to install and VL succeeded?
Users can share their experiences and how satisfactory the different parts of the system work.
The list could contain the "Motherboard type and brand, size of RAM and Hard drive, BIOS, Devices such as Sound, Video and Optical drives", maybe just the info available through  the 'System Profiler and Benchmark'.
Just a thought...

good idea cariboo
How about a new thread called VEC SPECS..
post how to open profiler and copy content of summery to clipboard for posting to the thread. this would offer a general understanding of what VL is being installed to. minimum specs can often be misleading but installs and posts from them speak truer...as you say they may add additional info as desired
it should be sticky next to screenshots
cheers

well they did not flood in..it seemed kinda obvious to me but I have realized my place...I am not very nice or helpfull..dispite my desire...and I have little artistic skill in addition to haveing little technical ability. my computers are antiques. This forum is deserving of better and has it. I am donateing all this computer history to the challenged folk who run the local "new to you" tomorrow but keeping one for myself with vector 5.9.
I will let help.. help and reframe from posting unless I am needing your skill and expertise.

I think you have been very nice and helpful. I know you have been a great help to me. I like the way you take the time to help people, with a nice, friendly attitude...without being snobbish or aloof to newbies like myself. As far as having little artistic skill or technical ability... I believe you know better than that Wink  I really like the wallpaper you created. I will miss you...if you stop helping. Sad
