I can't see where the user confirms that 3d accel was actually working?  The VIA drive will give you a screen.  But I never had any luck even running glxgears.
Perhaps I missed it when reading.  I'm tired and fading fast.

THERE, they assume that I'm an expert in Linux, but unfortunately I'm not. 
It is just not clear enough for my level of knowledge what I have to do.

I downloaded four files with extension *.tbz2 and *.tar.gz  from the sources given in that documentation.
I could extract the files with command 'tar -zxvf <filename>.tar.gz', right?
But what do I have to do with *.tbz2-files?
After that, I can install with './conigure', 'make clean', 'make', and finally 'su -c 'make install'', right?
Now, do I have to install all of the files?

Files downloaded:
opensource_ubranch_20050302.tbz2
unichrome-X-r30.tar.gz
via-20060403-linux.i386.tar.bz2
xf86-video-via-0.2.2.tar.bz2 (I found this file HERE and got it from HERE)

I really appreciate, if you could help with this....

Ok...
This is where things get exciting...
The instructions assume you're not a newbie.... so you'll need to get your hands dirty a bit...

You can try vpackager to build these, with a bit of luck, you may not need to get your hands dirty at all ;)
make sure your vpackager is up to date.
Download this http://vpackager.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/vpackager.gambas
move it to /usr/bin and rename it to vpackager[code]
mv vpackager.vambas /usr/bin/vpackager

Set it to executable

chmod +x /usr/bin/vpackager

Do all of that as root user
still as root, fire up vpackager and do try each of your downloaded files one at a time.

If you run into problems using vpackager (I suspect you will on opensource_ubranch_20050302) Do it manually

You can use

tar xf

to extract both of those file types (these flags work for most compressed file types )
This is what you do

Once you eactract them
cd <Directory where source was extracted>
./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc
make
mkdir PKG
make DESTDIR=$PWD/PKG install
cd PKG
makepkg <name-version-i586-1vl59.tlz>

Try that and see how far you get.
Post any errors if you get any

You are correct, each line is a complete command that you need to execute in a terminal (as root user)

But you may just try vpackager. It may just do all that for you without you having to dip your fingers in it

Today I continued working on my project "Compiz-Fusion On Compaq Presario" and I followed MOE's instructions.....
I assume that by "fire up vpackager" is meant to open a terminal as root and type 'vpakager", right?

If I do so I get:

Is this 'env.gbr2' a dependency issue

Thank you... I installed it, but the dependency issue seems to continue....:

I couldn't find this lib-file with --->System --->Gslapt...Where is it to get from?

I got it and I was able to start the vpackager, but I was not very successful yet.
I posted the results (log-files) and I wonder if, by looking at them, one could see what I would have to do next?
