To better understand what Vector Linux is being installed to.. please post your vec specs.
The more users that post the better informed the vl team and you will be...
Perhaps the easiest way to do this is to choose system from the menu, click system profiler and benchmark, click summery in the left pane, then choose information at the top left of the window and choose copy to clipboard. you may then paste to the thread. you may like to cut the username from the listed info.
Here is one of mine as example:
-Computer- Processor : Pentium III (Coppermine) Memory : 381MB (113MB used) Operating System : 5.9 Standard GOLD built on Dec-16-07 User Name : overthere (Overthere) Date/Time -Display- Resolution : 800x600 pixels OpenGL Renderer : Mesa DRI Rage 128 Pro 20051027 AGP 1x x86/MMX/SSE X11 Vendor : The X.Org Foundation -Multimedia- Audio Adapter : ENS1371 - Ensoniq AudioPCI -Input Devices- Power Button (FF) Power Button (CM) Macintosh mouse button emulation AT Translated Set 2 keyboard Logitech USB Optical Mouse -Printers- No printers found -IDE Disks- Maxtor 52049H3 PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-106D -SCSI Disks-

Don't have the System Profiler installed in my VL 5.8...but...
Dell Latitude C640 1.8 GHz Pentium Processor 1GB RAM 30GB Internal HD 80GB External USB HD Radeon 7500, 1400x1050 resolution, 110fps in glxgears @ fullscreen DLink Air Plus Wireless (DWL-G650) Synaptics Touchpad
I think this is a great idea - hopefully will ease some worries for would-be users: "I wonder if VL will work on my system...oh look, someone with the same box is using it. Should be safe to give it a try." *15 minutes later* "Oh crap...VL is fast!"
Cheers,
LLL

This is my main desktop system, a custom build. It literally screams with VL running on it. If my computer would do that, I'd stop using VL... I prefer a more quiet work environment. The benchmark thingy crashes on my box, will post spex on it later when I have slightly more time.
