I've never seen anyone pwn himself so hard, so many times as this guy. The premise of the argument was that South Americans should not write Celtic songs because they're not (directly) from the British Isles. Never mind the quality of the music. I stepped in and exposed his ignorance and he insisted on shooting himself in the foot five times. He also threw a weak racist slur at me ("What's your name, Paco?" in non-broken English), which is hilarious given that my face goes better with names like 'Lothar' and 'Varg Vikernes'.

Hey, I'm a seasoned pro who can spare you plenty of e-black eyes. Pointers on arguing with an idiot:

• Be sure to repeat the same facts again and again. Idiots are slow on the uptake and have short attention spans.
• Because of this short attention span, idiots also like to set the bar higher all the time but, like eating kindergarten paste, that is a bad habit. So try to correct it by loudly pointing out every time they backpedal.
  
• Furnish iron-clad, copper-bottomed evidence if necessary. Make sure there is absolutely no way you can be wrong. I recommend high quality color pictures and official documents signed in triplicate, but even that's not always enough.
• If all else fails, you can use a Markov chain text generator. I have used this method with 'very special' people and I have to say that, if logic and reason don't work, instilling a sense of futility will. Even people who are as dense as dead stars will not argue with stochastic models of themselves.

And above all, remember that idiots love people who will exhaustively expose their failures as human beings or, indeed, as nominally sapient sacks of flesh. Bear that in mind whenever you have the misfortune of crossing one.

I really can't believe there is people who still can't understand this stuff. The misunderstood in this matter is often huge. I believe mostly all of them have the origin in the raze concept. The fact that the origin of a language is the key is ignored, and replaced by some obscure racist idea. The Hadrian wall or the Rhine river are probably more important than a genetic tale to explain some stuff.
Of course, some people can't understand the if ... then structure, that makes things very difficult to anyone who puts some value in a discussion.
I know I am not a genius, but I know how to listen and learn from others, there is also some virtue in that.
