Thought I'd let you know your request is not being ignored...
This IS a interesting package. Thanks for pointing it out. I'll not attempt this quite yet, my chroot isn't clean enough, and I'm not finished with it. And not enough disk space at the moment for a additional chroot.
I will get to it as soon as I can. But if someone else wants a crack at it, please do!

Right about the deps Dave. Slang and newt will have to be built as well.
Seems the weather today will be perfect (to me at least). Have a great day neighbor!

Wow! Thank you, kc1di! This really helps me out a lot. I am in an unlucky situation where I must double boot with some other, much less desireable os, and partimage is essential to my backup strategy. I really appreciate your efforts. By the way, I apologize for contributing my thanks late: I forgot to subscribe to this thread, and I just now checked in after several days. I can see the delay was worth it! I just happend to have landed a new job in the meanwhile, too.

Congratulations on the new Job. Wait a day or two before trying to install it as one of the dependencies gave me a bit of a problem and that one has not been added tot he repository yet. in any event it should be there soon. it will be in testing so make sure you enable the testing repository. Dave

Okay. No Problem. Actually, I think I'll wait until my shiny new 5.9 SOHO Deluxe CDs arrive. I just ordered them, so I can start with a fresh install. The disks were my good-on-me gift for the new job!

Hmmm. Somehow I forgot to report back that everything is fabulous with PartImage. I've installed it on three SOHO 5.9 machines, including two desktops and one laptop. PartImage is saving my bacon flawlessly on each one.

One problem with the package: It installed from testing without pulling newt with it. It doesn't start because of missing lib.
After installing newt, it is fine, but it seems newt didn't go into slack-required. Could you confirm that, kc1di?
Thanks a lot for packaging it.
