Announcer Team
« on: June 13, 2008, 07:28:04 pm »
Just another idea how about an announce team? Maybe just a few people to copy and paste our announcements of new releases on linux news sites. linux.com, linuxtoday.com, slashdot.com,  digg.com,  osnews.com, desktoplinux.com, tuxmachines, org, are a few that come to mind. There are tons more. This gets the word out and is pretty painless for a few people to do then one person trying to cover all the bases. Just a 5 min job with release announcements that don't come but maybe one a month...........just more ideas to throw in the fire............. :D

Okay, just one question:  would the announcer team divide up the websites to which they would post (e.g. Frank takes Slashdot, digg.com, etc., Mary gets osnews.com, tuxmachines.org, and so on).  If this is the case, or if it is going to be organized in some other way so that each team member knows which websites he or she is responsible for, I would like to volunteer for this.

Even if I'm the only person who volunteers, I'll still do it.  Somebody please email me; my email is in my profile.

Tom

EDIT:  I realized that my email was hidden in my profile.  It should now be visible.

It's also listed at DW.  And VL Light has a tiny link to the left. Better then nothing I suppose. I was exploring that little blue tracking thingie at the bottom left of our forums. Interesting stuff. I noticed many of the referrals are coming from Caitlyn's review URL.

Thanks Caitlyn :)
Nice HONEST review. The good and the not so good.  As it should be.
