There is something weird about this package in Gslapt. If I check to get 1.0-i586-1vl59, it says it's a downgrade. So I went to the ftp link and in the meta file, it says "This is release canidate one." In wine-1.0-i586-1vl59.txt, it says "DISTRO: 5.9 Light RC1 built on May-20-08." I use 5.9 Standard.

the 'downgrade' is due to the number produced by the rc? whatever number. And the slack-desc must have been missed when it came to the upgrade...
I don't want to get the wrong package. Should I ignore the above and just gslapt wine-1.0-i586-1vl59.tlz?
Yes. It is the right version. Works pretty well, though I don't use enough windows software to test it very extensively.
