TLF
« on: July 04, 2008, 06:39:50 am »
I'm new using VL so bear with me:

I downloaded TLF to use as a logging program.  The "install" file says to type "./configure make make install".

1. Is this done in terminal mode?
2. Do I have change directories?
3. Is this function done as "root"?

This software will replace a DOS based logging program.

Thanks!

1. yes
2. you need to be in the directory in which the ./configure script is located - whereever you unpack the package to.
3. only "make install" needs to be run as root. So do this:

-su
(root password)
-make install

Hi W2GND ,

TLF is a good logging program I have already packaged TLF  for Vector Linux it can be found in the testing repository.  you may also want to check out Xlog which is another very good ham logging program which I have packaged for Vector. Also if your into psk I've packaged FLdigi for Vector as well.  Let me know if you need any help . All the programs are found in the testing repository.
