vL Forum Seamonkey link broken in 5.9 standard (SOLVED)
« on: July 04, 2008, 05:01:20 pm »

No doubt this is being worked on but pass it along for what its worth.  The VL Forum link at the top of the page in Seamonkey 1.1.9 doesn't work.

Go to root GUI login, you will need a package manager installed, eg kpackage from kdeadmin

Use whatever browser,
 and go to seamonkey releases (do a google}
dowload the linux targz file extract and install it to /home/user/.mozilla/seamonkey using seamonkey-installer in the extracted file and then you'll
have the latest version of seamonkey, no need to wait.
You may need the linux flash program too
extract and install in seamonkey plugins.
Just drag and drop the flash file to the /seamonkey/plugins directory
and go to their properties and add your user name.
Neat straight from source and no packaging required

Rod:
I followed your suggestion and got Seamonkey 1.1.12 and ran './seamonkey'.  Amazing! It did NOT overwrite 1.1.7.  It seems it installed  to /usr/local where the one that came with VL 5.9 Gold installed in /opt
