Your new "PDF Printer" should be available for use after installing this package. There is no easy way to determine where your new pdf file will be when you print it.  The default location is /var/spool/cups-pdf/YOUR-USERNAME/. I didn't change this as I couldn't decide on a location to suite everyone.

This is easily adjusted by editing the /etc/cups/cups-pdf.conf as root. Change
Quote
#Out /var/spool/cups-pdf/${USER}
(line 43) to
Quote
Out ${HOME}/Desktop/cups-pdf
and your pdf's will be sent there. You can change /Desktop/cups-pdf to a folder of your choice.  If it doesn't exist, it will be created.

After testing this package, please take a moment and come back to this thread to let us know how it works for you.

Works a treat on VL5.9 standard.

He he....I followed your instructions for re-directing the output but hadn't spotted the curly brackets. After a few attempts at printing I went into cups only to find cups-pdf had stopped with what looked like a paper jam so its seems it's just like a real printer!!  Grin

That cracked me up!  Cheesy
Let's just hope it doesn't emulate "head cleaning" or open up a browser to a URL to purchase more ink.
