Chestnut problem
« on: July 29, 2008, 11:00:02 am »

I am using VL 5.8 SOHO. One day I inserted 5.9 Std live cd and tried to connect internet. It was connected and found no problem.
So I installed 5.9. After install, connects to the internet, but webpage is not displayed. There was no messages like...(This page cannot be displayed. Refresh..)  but every browser is trying to load the website, but the page is not loaded.

Why this is like this which was connected on LiveCD but not on installed?
Re-installing is not a problem, but it is when I had to.

Sounds like a DNS problem.

Try this ping, then ping (Both are the same place)

If you can ping one and not the other then it is a DNS problem, check
/etc/resolv.conf for the proper name server.
