QEmu or any other Virtual Machine app?
« on: July 30, 2008, 01:41:27 pm »
VM software would be helpful to be in the repositories. Since VMware is a pay product, why not add QEmu?
I tried to compile QEmu myself but I keep getting errors... Making it a repository would be great.

Thanks.

There is no qemu for 5.9, IIRC. I used to build qemu and the kernel module for 5.8, but it won't build with gcc 4.x. Coincidentally, I installed one for Slack12 a couple of days ago, not sure if it was from linuxpackages.net or slacky.eu.

Is VMware server now for sale? As of v1.0.5 it was free and the beta of 2.0 was also free.
I am currently using VirtualBox 1.6.2 as it is a little less complicated and works with my USB devices.
