Hi,
I have Vector 5.8 Standard on a Dell Inspion 1150 lap top.  I have a home network.
I installed my Vector Linux (fast by the way and GREAT!) but I could not get it to show or find other cups
printers on my home network.
After hours of working, I found out what I needed to do. I shutdown and disabled the Vector Linux Firewall on my Inspiron laptop. Then I was able to show my other cups printers in my cups on my laptop.
I think the firewall was blocking a port that allowed cups to see other cups printers on the network. I thought this might help someone else who might be having the same trouble.  I think I am still safe with out my laptop firewall since my netwok router has a firewall.
God bless and keep you,
Mike

Thank you very very much.

I'm facing a similar situation at present.

Can you please tell me how to turn off the firewall?

Thank you.
