Wow so embarrassing. I have managed to set up sound in Puppy and Nimblex but not
in VL5.9Std.

solved now but I have no clue on how I did it and next time me boot up
then I'm sure there is not sound cause I don't know how to save changes yet.

Now I need to ask. How do I set up the slax.data file.

One write something in konsole? createsavedata or similar?

*** old now obsolete text follows. ***

Volume is set to 72% and I wrote alsamixer in cli and set the line and mic and such to 70plus

Where is the famous mute that everybody ask if one have checked?

You can mute and unmute channels by pressing "M" in alsamixer.
Just make sure that the front/pcm/main/master ones (whatever they're called) are on and bump up their volume.

If you're using xfce, can't you use the colume applet. Does it work?

Sorry, that's a typo.
I meant the "volume applet"  Smiley

If you have it there, right-click on it and go to properties. You have all the channels there.
If you don't have it there, add it by right-clicking on the taskbar, then click on Add new item and seach for "volume control".

If you do that, you still get no sound when you reboot?
