Quite suddenly, MSN support in Pidgin stopped working. aMSN doesn't work either. All other instant messenger protocols function properly.
I have a feeling my ISP is to blame somehow. What can I do besides use Meebo? I'm, like, really pissed off and stuff.

MSN is working for me with Pidgin 2.3.1. aMSN 0.97 (12/25/2997) worked a while back, but does not any more  |

Maybe a change in the protocol? Working only kopete here, no pidgin or amsn but I have older versions than nightflier.

yup, Pidgin working again after upgrading to 2.3.1, I had a small problem with the package though, I got pidgin: error while loading shared libraries: libpurple.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory and error while loading shared libraries: libgnt.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I have libpurple.so.0.4.3 and libgnt.so.0.0.0 (hey they should push the development a bit  ), so solved with a couple of symlinks. |

I had this problem once, it turned out that my cached certificates were out of date. I deleted them and the new ones were automatically downloaded.
I think they were the ones in ~/.purple/certificates/x509/tls_peers
A quick google would confirm this.
