Hello!, from La Plata, Buenos Aires
« on: August 08, 2008, 03:58:38 pm »

Hello everyone. I'm a 23 years old student of Astronomy. VL has been my recently serious approach to Linux. I'd been wanting to use linux a long time ago but never had the means. Since I have to do some programming    Linux is the best OS. Anyway, last month I bought an used monitor and put my old P133Mhz back on. It has more than 10 years now, in fact it has 13 years old I think, but never had a problem with it. At least with the hardware, had to reinstall several times win98...
I'll be flodding the forum with questions the next days, so be prepared.  :)

Well, that's all. Can't think of any more to say.

Best wishes.
Runnning VL 5.9 Light on Desktop P133 Mhz, 64 Mb Ram, 4 Gb harddisk.

Hey there telepibe. I kinda guessed your origin by your nickname :). Astronomy? wow awesome!
We have many forum members interested in programming and math, so don't be shy and share your experience :)
Welcome to vector and I hope you stay for a long time.

Saludos from Buenos Aires, Rodrigo.

PS: Compiling is very cpu intensive stuff, so is normal g77 is taking some time in your box, if you have to do something like that again just post about it and maybe we can help you.
