I can download and install bootsplash themes and they work fine but when I try to put my own images into the themes the bootsplash doesnt work....(yes i pointed the config file to my image, and updated initrd and lilo)

Im using the .jpeg extension with no progression in the Gimp (found that through gooogle)
Ive even compared the bpi and depth of my images with some of the images in the themes ...they are the same.
Im confused......
