On A.33, once booting into xfce4, wireless lan usb card(rtl8187l) wasn't recognized and initiated automatically as under A.32..
then went Wicd manager,it won't find the signal and connect at all, trying VLwifi then sytem could hang and dummy......do add a few wifi scan tool(such as wifi radar, air snort, etc) in next alpha/beta release.

A0.33:

It still did not see my W2K installation, but would allow me to continue by just clicking "Next". This is an improvement over 0.32.

As the progress bar on "Installing Base system programs ..." reached 100% I get the error previously reported:

This application has raised an unexpected error and must abort.
[26] Division by zero.
MdlSetup.?.0

When I click OK the installer exits. This is the first time I have seen this issue on my machine.

I am working on a new method to detect other OS's installed on the system. The boot loader section will have to be completely re-done (I'm already on it)
Uelsk8s is helping me with the division by 0 and the progressbars issues... currently being worked on

This laptop is an Xplio cy-25-15.0.  Company is no longer in business.   Thankfully, however, this quote is from my test of version A0.32.  I did not have the same problem on A0.31 or A0.33.  So I'm back in business with the Xplio.

Just installed 0.33. Good news first....

Resolution is back to something usable. Machine name and domain are both correctly set. Sound is back.

Bad news - when creating a user, the user is created (shows as existing if when attempting to create a user of the same name from Vasm), but no home directory is set up.

Because of the [26] Division by zero error I have had to complete install using the text installer.
Results on machine 1.
Processor   Mobile Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 - M CPU 2.20GHz
     Memory   493MB (174MB used)
     OpenGL Renderer   Mesa GLX Indirect
     Audio Adapter   ICH4 - Intel 82801DB-ICH4
     IDE Disks
     IC25N020ATCS04-0
     QSI CD-RW/DVD-ROM SBW-241

The good...
There is really a lot of 'good' considering it's still alpha.

The bad....( I imagine this will happen with the gui installer as well)
Hardware detection does not see my cd-rw/dvd-rom.  This worked fine in VL 5.9 standard.
Ran a cd-set scan via vasmCC and it says IDe CD-ROM drive could not be found

those of you getting the "Division by zero error", are you running a full install or custom.

I have run a full install each time.  If I were to run custom what should I leave out to prevent the error.
Thanks.

Completed install via text installer, but this issue may apply to gui as well.
Toshiba Satellite p100
I am unable to configure wireless, even though driver iw3945 is present.

Wicd Manager does not see any wireless.
I am able to us VLwifi and am told I have connected but I can not surf the net.
When I do iwconfig in the terminal this is what it looks like...
wlan0     IEEE 802.11  ESSID:"ken2coul"
          Mode:Managed  Frequency:2.412 GHz  Access Point: Not-Associated
          Tx-Power=0 dBm
          Retry min limit:7   RTS thr:off   Fragment thr=2352 B
          Encryption key:686E-6C56-ED30-3DA6-9A21-8311-E3
          Link Quality:0  Signal level:0  Noise level:0
Rx invalid nwid:0  Rx invalid crypt:0  Rx invalid frag:0
          Tx excessive retries:0  Invalid misc:0   Missed beacon:0

lsmod shows the following references to iwl3945 so I think the drivers I need are loaded, but still not working correctly.
mac80211              161824  1 iwl3945
led_class               4356  1 iwl3945
cfg80211               23944  2 iwl3945,mac80211
iwl3945                85620  0

PS, uelsk8s, I will do the custom installs, now and see if I still get a Division by zero error.
Thanks

Let's keep this thread flowing with the INSTALLER information..

Bugs such as this wireless thing should be in the PRODUCT thread. This is not related to the installer (at least not now)

Thanks

try running a custom install, and include everything.

I ran the custom install on the Toshiba p100 and the Xplio laptop both.  I ran the Xplio laptop without the ati or nvidia packages.  I ran the Toshiba without the ati package.  Everything else was included.  (if you think I should run again without taking out anything, just let me know)

Packages installed on both machines without incident.

try running a custom install, and include everything.

That got me past the point where I got "Divide by 0" last time (right after "Installing Base system programs ...").

Got to the point of installing LILO, error:
Fatal: open /boot/vmlinuz: No such file or directory
FAILED

Chose to continue without installing LILO. After creating a user and clicking "Next": Error:
This application has raised an unexpected error and must abort.
[45] File or directory does not exist

I added the line acpi=off to my kernel boot options during the gui installer set-up.  Where do I look to see if that was applied?
