I'm a newbie with Vector Linux, so I am hoping that someone will let me know what I have done wrong.

So far everything loads right. My problem is when in Firefox or Fluxbox, the mouse cursor changes to what looks like a broken image. This also happens to me when I hover a PDF in Acrobat Reader.

Is this something that I can fix easily or should I just reinstall the whole VL 5.9?

Please Help!

Strange, never heard or seen that before. Can you send us a picture of what you mean? Have you done any upgrades of any sort?

Thanks for replying. I finally figured out what was wrong. It turned out that Adobe Reader was trying to use a hardware based cursor which I think my laptop does not support.

I added the following line in the monitor section of xorg.conf file:

Option "SWcursor"

This made the program dependent on the software cursor. Although it uses more resources, it fixed my problem and has made the application usuable.

I had to think outside the Vector box and looked in other Linux forums to find the solution to my problem. I found this solution in the Ubuntu forums. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=38048
