download iso problems
« on: September 22, 2008, 06:27:39 am »
Hi,

I have been attempting to download the standard iso from the main page but it completes before the entire iso has been downloaded. Is there another download site to try. I want version 5.9. THanks.

Go to the downloads page:

http://vectorlinux.com/downloads

and scroll to the bottom.  There is a list of mirrors there.

The best method for downloading large files (including isos) is to use wget at the command line.  Place the mouse pointer over the link in your browser, right mouse click, and select "Copy Link Location" (Firefox or Seamonkey).  Then open a terminal session and type in:

wget -Cr

add a space and then center mouse click to paste the link location onto that line.  If the download gets interrupted wget will time out and then try again, resuming from where the previous download left off.
