Floppy images are found here:
http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/veclinux-5.9/install/floppy/vlinst-bootfloppies/

This method allows you to install Vector Linux using floppy disks and the VL CDROM (any flavour).

It also works if you have a hard drive with a FAT or Linux partition containing an ISO image.
Name this image vlinst.iso and put it in the root directory of the partition.

Preparation on a Window host is as follow:

    * Copy the floppy images to the hard drive, let's say to c:\vlinst
    * Copy rawrite.exe to same location, either from the Vector Linux CDROM, in the \install\rawrite folder, or
      download from here: http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/veclinux-5.9/install/rawrite/
    * Launch a dos prompt
    * Insert blank floppy #1, enter these commands:

      c:
      cd \vlinst
      rawrite
    * Enter source file name: vlinst-1.img
    * Enter destination drive: A

    * When procedure is complete, take floppy #1 out of the drive and replace it with another.
    * Repeat above procedure for each of the .img files

On a Linux host, the preparation is as follow:

    * Copy the floppy images to the hard drive, let's say to ~/
    * Launch a terminal

    * Insert blank floppy #1, write the kernel image into it using this command:

      cat ~/vlinst-1.img > /dev/fd0

    * Take the floppy disk out of the drive and replace it with another.
    * Repeat above procedure for each of the .img files

Bring the CDROM and the floppies to the target computer.

    * Set the computer to boot from floppy
    * Insert the CDROM (or make sure the hard drive with the ISO image is installed).
    * Insert the floppy #1
    * Boot the computer
    * Follow the prompts
    * After asked, replace floppy #1 with floppy #2
    * After asked, replace floppy #2 with floppy #3
    * VL install screen will appear
