Hello,
Help needed...
I wonder if there is a way how to fix the broken symlinks in /lib/modules/2.6.22.19  ???

I think uelsk8s addressed creating the appropriate symlinks a few posts back, but you should probably remove the existing ones first.

rm /lib/modules/2.6.22.19/build
ln -s /usr/src/linux-2.6.22.19 /lib/modules/2.6.22.19/build

rm /lib/modules/2.6.22.19/source
ln -s /usr/src/linux-2.6.22.19 /lib/modules/2.6.22.19/source

Sorry, my fault..
I missed the 'remove" part..
now the symlinks point to the correct folders...

State of the installation now:
1) No  problems booting any more.
2) Agere Win Modem driver installed and dial-up connection .working.
3) Still no Live CD...'vmklive' does not create an .iso file
(actually this was the reason for opening this topic).
4)

The Laptop is in a condition now where I can do some basic stuff.
I do not close the thread as [SOLVED]  :)
