wcs has packaged the latest version of php for VL 5.9 and VL 5.9.1.

Just a small disclaimer.
Php has quite a big number of configure options and it is possible that support for everything isn't in this package.
I know nothing about php, and this is only the result of a configure with "default" options on a fresh 5.9 Standard install.

I would be happy to repackage it, though, if anyone finds that there are additional ./configure options worth including.
