« on: October 31, 2008, 03:23:11 pm »
hello all,

i have just installed VL 5.9 mini, it has defaulted to 360x480, i know the screen can handle larger, it runs 800x600 in knoppix with no probs, can it be changed in VASM? or only in command line?

You can change it in vasm (vasm > Xwindow > xconf), or by running vxconf as root.
You should first type "init 2" as root, so that you go into textmode.

Actually when it defaults to a low resolution like that it usually means vxconf didn't do the job properly in the first case.  If vxconf doesn't work correctly you can run xorgconfig from the command line which will take you through a series of menus to set things manually.  That's still way easier than manually editing xorg.conf.
