toothandnail has packaged firefox 3.0.4 for VL 5.9 and VL 5.9.1.  Please note that this is a security patch and bugfix release.  If you are running firefox 3.0.3 or earlier you probably should upgrade to this package.  As soon as we have adequate testing reports it will be moved to the patches repository assuming all is well.

Browser works as expected, no crashes so far (and no problems with flash, using v10)

When testing the language pack, thus starting firefox from commandline, I noticed this:
bad string content

(firefox-bin:12486): Gtk-WARNING **: Icon cache '/usr/share/icons/hicolor/icon-theme.cache' is invalid

Not sure whether this is because of the package or just my installation. Will test it a bit further when I have time to do so.

EDIT again: error also pops up after downgrading to 3.0.3, so the problem is probably to be found somewhere inside my box

I'm having a lot of crashes here with firefox-3.0.4.  I haven't noticed any pattern yet.  The next time I start it up I'll do so from a terminal and see if I get any error messages.
