Some application windows are not displaying.
« on: November 23, 2008, 03:43:15 pm »

Running Vector Linux Lite (5.9) with LXDE.  Recently some odd behavior has begun to occur.  Log into LXDE, start the session and open an application such as VLC then close it.  After some period of time if I attempt to relaunch VLC by clicking the icon it appears as nothing happens.  Viewing the running processes on the machine validates that VLC has been started and is running, just not visible on the screen; like it is hidden or something.  Firefox does not seem to be affected by this but VLC and XTerm start/run but do not display on any desktop.

Anyone experienced this issue before?  Recently installed VirtualBox but I do not think that should be an issue.

Ok, after some additional poking and prodding it appears to be related to VirtualBox.  If I start VirtualBox then close it "something" happens that causes some applications to no longer display.  Very odd...
