Hi,
I installed VL-5.9-std-GOLD-built on Dec-16-07 (kernel 2.6.22.14) on PC Pentium III/500MB/500MHz.
I cusomized the Desktop Settings ( Icons, Icon size, panel, background, fonts) and created a few laucher (Dial-Up, Printscreen) and I want to use the same customization on another PC. I tried to use "vmklive" to create a new live CD, but it doesn't work (see attachment).
My question:
Where are all the custom data located?
Can I just replace these files in a new install from the original CD?
Is it better to gett the 5.9 final release?
I thank in advance for any response Smiley

The customized things you are referring to is probably all just for one user? If you used the same username on the other comuter, you should be able to copy that users home directory to the new one.

Most music on my soundcloud page was arranged in programs running on VL.

Thanks Headacher, it does not work that way....

In the /home partition I can't find anything else than the folders "ftp" and "lost+found" !
Under "ftp" I find "pup ->velinux ->packages -> http:##vectolinux.osuosl.org#...." and "lost+found" is empty!

Does somebody know where I could find the customized files  for Desktop Settings ( Icons, Icon size, panel, background, fonts) and launcher (Dial-Up, Printscreen) Huh

PS.: Yes, it is for one user only!

EDIT because of wcs's question below:
Actually there is only "root" and no other user!

You should have a /home/username folder, for users.
Did you create a user at all?

If yes, all settings will be there, in hidden files and folders...

If your settings are for the root user, they should be inside /root.

Aahh, this sheds some light...Thank you, wcs!
....I didn't create an user at all...

OK, in /root are lots of hidden files ( .**).
Is there a way to learn "which is for what" settings?
