Thank you All for yor fast reply ... and I got my problem solved
First I removed inkscape ... then I checked if there is "imagemagick" installed at all ...
and it was (6.4.1_10-i586-1vl60).
I marked imagemagick for reinstallation. After that I went ahead to install inkscape again.
There were actually two versions showing up:
... i486-2sl graphic/inkscape
... i586-2gsb packages/office
this time I marked the i486 version and it catched a few more dependencies,
sorry I didn't write them all down, but one was actually ... surprise,
"imagemagick". Though an older version "6.3.7_10-i486-1.tgz" or at
I had another little problem during installation, really minor, with gtkspell.
It just didn't run through all the way, but Ijust remarked it for installation
and the second time everything completed successfully.
Sooo ... inkscape seems to work now, I haven't worked with it yet, but at
least I was able to launch it. But I'm sure it is ok now.
btw what is sl and gsl standing for. I asume sl stands for Slackware, but the other
one I have no clue.
