Hello all
« on: December 08, 2008, 10:45:31 am »

Hello all,

My name is Tim and I'm from Cornwall, UK.

I have been using various versions of Linux for a few years and after experimenting
with Vector for a month or so I have decided to make it my main Linux distro.
I am an IT technician by profession so not a beginner. My interest is mainly programming,
Lazarus (Object Pascal) especially, although I also dabble with C++ and Java. I have written
and administer a couple of websites too.

Kind regards,

Welcome WibblyTim,

Having some experience in linux will make you feel at home with VL (slackware under the hood).

Hey! it's good to have more programmers around, I hope my c++ questions will have now faster answers ;)

Hi, Tim,

A belated welcome to the Vector Linux community.  It's been my primary distro most of the time since the release of version 5.1 a little over three years ago.  I played with it on and off before that since version 1.8.  It just keeps getting better all the time.  I'm running VL 6.0 rc1 right now and it's the best yet.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find a more friendly or helpful community than the one here :)

Again, welcome...
