VL5.9 SOHO -- Radeon 7500
Strange video behaviour: If I set Xorg depth to "24" all videos (DVD, AVI's, etc.) play as expected, but if I set depth to "16" (which allows for better performance with Flash, etc.) I get blue screens in Xine, KPlayer, VLC, etc. (rest of my display works as usual) while audio works. Should be noted that I don't even get the player's default no-content-loaded screen (the XINE logo, for instance) - right from start, before any file is loaded, it's blue.
Even stranger: If I load one instance of any video player, I just get the blue screen...but if I load a 2nd video player (e.g., Xine+Xine or Xine+VLC or VLC+KPlayer, etc.), it comes up as it should, and will give full video display - no blue screen.
I've googled ad nauseum, and read many posts of this happening in reverse - blue screens at 24 depth, and working at 16 - but I'm stuck on this reversed situation...
Any ideas?!
