Can't see linux computer from Windows computer.

I am running VL 5.9.1 SOHO. I am trying to see my linux computer from an XP computer on my windows network. On the linux computer the workgroup is set correctly and I can see my Windows computers from my linux computer but not the other way around. The firewall on XP can see the linux computer but it doesn't show up in My Network Places. I'm also having trouble transferring files and printing across the network.

You need some troubleshooting first.

First ping by ip (not name) each Win computer and then
reverse it. That is to ensure all the systems are able to
see each other.

To communicate from Windows to Vector you can use filezilla and
use the ssh protocol. This would give you a visual (GUI) for looking
at things on the Vector machine. The way to make a Linux computer
showup in Network Neighborhood would be to setup Samba.

You mentioned setting up "Sambs" do you mean Samba? I think I have already set up Samba. If that's what you mean do you have any ideas of what I might have not done right?

Yes I meant Samba (I fixed it).

Not without looking at smb.conf.

Did you make the shares browseable?
