New external hard drive should be arriving at the end of this week and I'll be downloading that 64-bit ISO as well to give it a whirl on the notebook. Should be fun (now where did I hide that bottle of bourbon?).

Finally got around to installing this today. Definitely some work I need to do in order to get it communicating with the network (wireless).
Moe-lnx? You weren't kidding when you said it was a bare bones setup. LOL
I let it do the Grub installation and on a whim, did a "grub-probe" from the SOHO installation. Came up with an unkown filesystem error. Definitely a strange one, and I'll dig into that later as well.

Yes you can install it for sure. But there is no login manager on that one or fancy desktop. It is a barebones system atm with fluxbox only. I just use it to build stuff. Please pm me if you plan to compile stuff and cobntribute as i and another member are also doing the same and need to coordinate efforts to keep us from doing the work twice
COOL!! and I myself did not even know there was no login manager and such. Perfect. Something for me to screw around with ... if I ever get time

Definitely a rough gem got installed and booted up! Lilo setup fails to show newly installed vl64; shows the windows and my vl6 and mandriva install but not my slackware 13 install either... Had to mount the partition and chroot to edit and run lilo to be able to get lilo installed correctly. Also the select packages made the installer spit out error and quit. I have tons of time to build packages and test if someone can point me to a possible list of needs...

Well, gotta have gimp package for sure , I do not know where the package list of needed packages are. Might want to fix that lilo package ... You could check the 5.9-64 package repository and see what's there that's not in the 6.0. Might help. Else something might be on the packagers' board.

I finally had occasion to install 7.0-64 on a powerful machine. It's REALLY slick and chock full of awesomeness. Now I just need to get my favorite pieces of software installed. It looks like this will be mostly compiling from source, which can be tedious. I hope others will grab that ISO. Great job, VL team! uname -a

I'm going to be working on packages again. Anything I built for VL 5.8, 5.9 or 6.0 that's still worthwhile should get both 32- and 64-bit builds from me. (OK, the font packages will be noarch, but y'all know what I mean.)
