Hi all, I'm a new Vector user, and I must say first impression is great. I come from a Gentoo background. I am using build: Vector Linux 6.0 Standard RC3. On first startup X config ran to configure all devices. When I tried to compile the legacy nVidia drivers: 71.86.01 it returns a kernel header failure. Here's the output I get from vpackager:
*** Unable to determine the target kernel version. ***

=======> ERROR: Building '/usr/ports/contrib/nvidia-legacy-71xx/nvidia-legacy-71xx-71.86.01-i586-1vl59.tlz' failed.

installed on your system. If you specified a separate
output directory using either the "KBUILD_OUTPUT" or
the "O" KBUILD parameter, make sure to specify this
directory with the SYSOUT environment variable or with
the equivalent nvidia-installer command line option.

Depending on where and how the kernel sources (or the
kernel headers) were installed, you may need to specify
their location with the SYSSRC environment variable or
the equivalent nvidia-installer command line option.

*** Unable to determine the target kernel version. ***

=======> ERROR: Building '/usr/ports/contrib/nvidia-legacy-71xx/nvidia-legacy-71xx-71.86.01-i586-1vl59.tlz' failed.

I've checked my src directory and the source seems to be present. Any idea's why this would fail?
System specs:

Intel Celeron 1200
768Mb Ram
16MB TNT nVidia

Edit: It seems that the kernel source isnt installed... So I downloaded the source from and installed it... Still having build issue's

VL 6.0 Standard RC3 ships with both the kernel source, and legacy nvidia driver.
you have the option at install time to exclude both.
if you did a full install, then all you should have to do is run vxconf to get your nvidia setup with the proprietary driver.
