Just installed VL 5.9 Lite. Works really well on my old AMD Duron white box. I'm looking forward to learning about Slackware and this distro. Thanks.

Hi Jacatone! Smiley Welcome to VectorLinux and the forum---"Home away from home" for many of us here! Grin Hopefully it'll become likewise for you as well!

You're using the same version of VL as myself, though when I got started with Linux 4 years or so ago it was with DSL/Puppy first, then followed a month or so later with this wonderful distro, VL-5.1. I actually have 6 different distros installed on this machine but VL-5.9 Light is my default because it came with ALL the software that I use plus ALL my very favourite desktop window managers (except two but I fixed that). I've never been so happy with a distro before or since. Smiley

Hopefully this will be the same experience for you as well my new-found friend!

If you have any questions don't ever hesitate to ask. The people here are very experienced and knowledgeable (except for me of course!) and very helpful indeed. So you seldom ever have to wait for a reply.

Again Jacatone---welcome to VectorLinux! Enjoy the experience!

Welcome to VL!  I don't think you'll find a friendlier bunch anywhere.

You might ruffle a few feathers if you keep calling Vector Linux Light by the incorrect name "Lite".  Some argued that Lite==crippleware when that variant was named and the consensus was strongly in favor of Light.

Whatever you call it I hope you enjoy using it Smiley

Welcome jacatone,

Whether "Light" or "Lite", the members here will be happy to help if they can.  Wink
