Has anyone done a watchdog circuit here? This isn't exactly VL specific, but can be very useful ... and fun if you like electronic projects. Also, I'd be really interested to learn about any electronics that you've interfaced with linux, and with VL in particular. (Yes, I'll be doing a bit of VL archeology on this
) My specific interest is in MCU's (Microcontrollers) and RS485/422, and I2C...
Here's a watchdog circuit similar to one I've used under windows (even though the circuit in the link below is intended for linux) ... http://jamesthornton.com/linux/LinuxFocus/English/July2002/article239.shtml
This guy's also got a cool LCD panel:
"You can set IP address, netmask, gateway address, shutdown the computer, readout statistics, basically anything you want because most of the logic is implemented with a perl script and it can be changed easily. The panel is connected to your computer via RS232 serial line."http://jamesthornton.com/linux/LinuxFocus/English/May2002/article236.shtml
Anyone here tried anything like this? calling kc1di!, calling kc1di !
--- are you around these days? I can imagine you might have done stuff like this besides hamlib and FSK? (I'm not a ham, but did enjoy reading your how-to, btw.)
