Sorry it is probably easy. I want to load 3c509 module at boot of VL5.1 I edited /etc/modules.conf and added line
alias 3c509
Nic module is still not loading. I can load by hand using insmod. Where and what line I should put in? I added the same line in modprobe.conf.
3c509 is isa card and is not detected at install. Thanks for help.

I would add it in /etc/rc.d/rc.modules. If the card is not detected during boot, you may need to provide it with parameters to locate the card - not sure, I've not used an ISA card for a long time....

Thank You very much. The card is actually there. I just had to remove the hash. I'm more of a Debian guy so that's why I was looking in modules.conf. Thanks again

FYI... Vector Linux 5.1 is more than three years old and is no longer supported.  Sure, folks here will help you if they can but there are no security patches or updates to packages being issued.  Running VL 5.1 now means having lots of known security vulnerabilities on your system.  Upgrading to VL 6.0, 5.9.1 or 5.9 is highly recommended.
