I suppose the package works, but the app leaves much to be desired... ???

It just happens that I first tried it on a big jpg (much larger than the screen) and this has no zoom AFAICT. Tried to close it with the window close command and no luck, then I pulled the window along to the left till I got to the "X" to close the app and it didn't work anymore. Tested on a smaller image and the "X: does work if you use it first. Plus, no man page or --help.

EDIT: Obviously no offense meant to the packager, of course.

Ya, it is very minimal. If you are looking for a powerful image viewer but yet light and "cli friendly" I would suggest feh.

I basically use it in conjunction with a file manager like XFE to get a quick view of a graphics file I select through the file manager.  It brings the picture up really quickly.

Ok, feh is pretty quick and has zoom and pan. The autozoom setting doesn't seem to work though.

The xfe package includes an image viewer called xfi.  I use that and it works very well indeed.
.
If the package is acceptable then we're going to leave it in the repo, obviously.  Giving people choices is a good thing
