Hello all,
« on: January 31, 2009, 04:07:48 pm »

MadMarv here, new user from south Mississippi, USA. Coming from Zenwalk - which I love - but looking for an even lighter distro for a salvaged Gateway Solo 1200 laptop. Feels right at home so far.

Went with Vector Light 6.0 B2. So far so good. :D

Hi, Marv,

Welcome to Vector Linux!  I think you'll find the forum and the community as a whole to be friendly, helpful, and welcoming.  If we have an advantage over Zenwalk (which I also like a whole lot) it's our forums.  I've seen some decidedly unhelpful if not downright hostile posts in the Zenwalk forum.  It's amazing how just a few people can change the whole flavor of a forum.

Anyway, VL Light is great for older hardware like yours.  Enjoy!
