No boot after installation VL RC4 in external usb disk

Hi! i install in my Toshiba A135 SP-4796 VL6 in an external ide hard disk via usb-ide adapter without errors, but after the installation the pc hangs! freeze! Only the Caps Lock leds is intermitent. No error messages!!!!. I suspect of initrd image. I have the same problem with Minime (PclinuxOS) and replacing de initrd image was the solution.
