I installed a several minutes ago, ran it for a while, and haven't seen anything bad.

The only problem I've seen with 3.05 & 3.06 is incompatibility with a few extensions, which just means that the extensions need to be upgraded.  Other than that, no problems so far.

Thanks to toothandnail for packaging and caitlyn for putting this in the repos and posting.

There could be a minor bug in the way an updated version of Firefox assesses whether extensions are compatible or not.  After I restarted Firefox the extensions that were reported as incompatible were working again.  So I think my previous post was probably incorrect.

It sounds like the permissions on your profile got messed up somehow.  I installed FF 3.0.6 with slapt-get and my bookmarks are intact.

chown -R pita:users ~/.mozilla did the trick. Still strange so that it happened.

Thus are the mysteries of Linux, no one will ever fathom.Wink
