Finally got this running but when I ping another machine it says "No network available."

lspci:

ifconfig -a only lists lo

modules.conf and modprobe.conf lists alias eth0 e100  (this is the same is mthe 5.9 on the same machine.

6.0 does not have internet either.  I am writing this from the 5.9 session on the same machine.

I'm at a loss as to how to continue.

As root, enter:

/sbin/modprobe e100
/etc/rc.d/rc.network restart

and see if that works for you.  If it does then I'll pass along how to make the change survive a reboot.

Thanks Caitlyn.  I just need to remember to restart to get into 6.0 BEFORE i issue the commands  Undecided

The only directory in modules is 2.6.27.12 which does have that file.

Opps!  I just saw your reply in Distor Developement and am copying it there.  I really did think, at the time that this was my problem.
