I think it would be nice to have a humor thread.  Naturally I wouldn't recommend anything vulgar, bigoted, or otherwise offensive.

Hello again, Carsten,

I don't know why I had the impression that you were from the UK.  Perhaps it's because your English is better than mine, which is probably true of most Germans.  Anyway, let's call it that well-educated, sophisticated German wit of yours.

We have something in common.  Most of my ancestors came to the US from Germany.  We even have Oktoberfest here where I live.  My grandfather on my father's side spoke German, though I never really knew him, since he died when I was only two years old.

I've been to Germany on a few occasions.  Very nice country, good food, friendly people, excellent beer.

Perhaps a little more humor is in order, since this is supposed to be a humor thread:
