Installed midori all seemed fine, browsed some sites watched some yahoo video, but it will not accept keyboard input to any text boxs. Example, in google search I can't enter any search info into the textbox. Tried textboxs in yahoo, facebook and the vector linux forum as well, just can't enter any text. I can ,however, enter text into the address bar at the top. I can't even paste text into a forms textbox. Otherwise it is a nice fast little browser, but that's kind of a crucial function. Ken

Hi Ken, I've checked the build and it seems to be ok , it may be a midori bug, i've notified them of the bug and will wait and see what they say. Dave

Same bug seen here.... Browser is looking great though...
One side note... the menu entry for midory does not have an icon... other than that, it works (with the exception of the mentioned text-input bug)

Ahh... did not know that... maybe the icon-theme needs to be refreshed and it only happens when you reboot or log out/in again... at any rate... mediri seems a lot better than the last version I tried.
It'd be nice to have the inputboxes actualy take input though

I have found that the keyboard input bug is related to WebKit rather than midori. I tried Kazehakaze, which can use gecko or webkit as engine per user selection, and I experienced the same bug while using the webkit engine.

I just managed to get it to build. Here is the secret. You need to rebuild icu4c Use webkitgtk rather than webkit. The webkit nightly builds have a lot of unnecessary stuff, webkitgtk provides what midori needs add the latest libsoup and libproxy for cookie support.

Thanks for the tip Moe, I was just playing with it yesterday but haven't had the time to really get into it. Will as soon as I can though. What did you do different to Icu4c? Will you upload your webkit build? or do you want me to try and rebuild it here ? if you want me to could you send your build script for me to compare too Thanks, Dave

The config didn't really change in the icu4c package... I really dont understand why the one in the repos now doesn't work, but it just doesn't. The linker keeps failing with it. Here is my script for the icu4c package http://nopaste.com/p/akVdtyqguHere is the one for webkit http://nopaste.com/p/aLIQLXNy5You can build them all if you want. I didn't want to step on your toes since you stared working on this one.

But for the those that are desiring to use midori it may be better if your build works to just up load it. what do you think? Dave

Ok.. I will upload mine. I had no errors at all, and I've tested them on my 2 computers @ home + one at work, they seem fine.
